A farewell shaped entirely around the person you love.

"There really are no words to express just how thankful we are for yesterday. You were amazing and the way you delivered it was perfect."  Elizabeth M

Are there restrictions on what we can include?

Are there restrictions on what we can include?

Are there restrictions on what we can include?

Very few. Your ceremony should be as individual as the person it honours.

My role is to help shape and deliver a service that genuinely reflects your loved one’s life and wishes. You’re encouraged to be creative - include memories, music, rituals, or symbolic gestures that mean the most to you.

What is a civil funeral ceremony?

Are there restrictions on what we can include?

A civil funeral ceremony is a unique and personal celebration of life — a tribute that reflects the character, values, and story of your loved one, or even yourself if you are planning your own funeral.
It can be non-religious, or it may include religious elements such as hymns, prayers, or readings if that feels right for you.
Ceremonies are often held in a crematorium, cemetery, or another meaningful location of your choice.

I’m not religious — can I still have a burial?

Are there restrictions on what we can include?

Yes, absolutely.
You can have a non-religious or civil service before the burial at a funeral home, outdoor location, or anywhere suitable.

It’s also common for the entire service to take place at the graveside if you prefer a simpler or more intimate gathering.

Can we include hymns, music, or prayers?

Of course.
It’s entirely your choice whether to include religious or non-religious content. Many families like to blend both styles.
You’re welcome to choose your own readings, music, hymns, or prayers - or I can suggest some that may fit the tone and theme of your service. As I am not a humanist therefore not atheist we can include hymns, references to angel sand afterlife should you wish.

Can anyone else speak during the ceremony?

Yes of course, anyone  you agree to contribute can speak and I can speak someone's words who may like to contribute but feel unable to speak on the day.

If it is a cremation we have generally 20 minutes for the ceremony plus 10 minutes for getting into and out of the crematorium. So it is worth bearing this in mind.

Can we ask questions during the planning process?

Please do - all questions are welcome.
Planning a funeral can feel overwhelming, but I’m here to support and guide you every step of the way.

You should feel completely confident that the service we create together reflects your wishes and respects your loved one’s memory.
No question is too small - I’m always happy to help.
